Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder Carman Mechanic to join our team in Lancaster, SC, 29720. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and repairing our fleet of rail cars, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform welding and fabrication tasks on rail cars and related components. Conduct inspections and maintenance on rail car systems to ensure compliance with safety standards. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs to maintain optimal performance. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working in the facility. Assist in training new team members on welding and mechanical procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding or mechanics is a plus. Proven experience as a welder or mechanic, preferably in the rail industry. Strong knowledge of welding techniques and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary.
