Welding HVAC Certification Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable welding Instructor to join our Career & Technical Education team. The ideal candidate will bring real-world experience and a passion for teaching high school students the skills necessary for success in the welding or manufacturing industry. This position involves developing and delivering engaging curriculum, preparing students for industry certifications, and fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate would be able to be credentialed to teach our dual-credit classes at HCC.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive welding curriculum aligned with industry standards and TEA guidelines. Deliver hands-on instruction in welding systems, safety protocols, tools, diagnostics, and repair techniques. Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications (e.g. NCCER). Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments. Collaborate with other CTE instructors and staff to support student success and career readiness. Ensure a safe and organized classroom and lab environment. Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of welding technologies and teaching practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma with minimum 5 years of verifiable welding industry experience, or Associate's or Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of verifiable welding industry experience.
Licensure/Certification:
Must hold a valid welding license or certification (e.g., AWS). Must be eligible for or possess a Texas CTE teaching certificate in welding or related field (or be willing to obtain one).
