Job Description
Shop Technician Washington Marine Cleaning Everett, WA Job Details Full-time From $26 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Cell phone reimbursement Vision insurance Qualifications Fabrication Spill response Hydraulics LOTO Diesel engine repair Full Job Description Shop Technician - Washington Marine Cleaning (Everett, WA)About Us Washington Marine Cleaning supports shipyards and industrial facilities across Western Washington with specialized cleaning, environmental response, and vessel support services. Our shop is the backbone of these operations—maintaining our fleet, repairing technical equipment, fabricating custom solutions, preparing gear for field crews, and mobilizing spill response assets when needed. If you enjoy solving mechanical problems, learning new skills, and doing work that impacts real operations, you'll thrive here. Position Summary We are seeking a Shop Technician who wants hands-on work, variety, and responsibility. You will maintain and repair equipment, support field activities, process tanks and commercial projects brought into the shop, organize and mobilize gear, and occasionally load and deliver equipment. This is a fast-paced environment where cleanliness, multitasking, and self-direction are essential. What Makes This Shop Different Your work directly affects whether our crews stay productive or lose time waiting. No day is the same—one day may involve equipment repairs, the next fabrication work, tank washing, or prepping gear for emergency response. Initiative isn't just appreciated here—it's noticed, rewarded, and developed. Many people who started in this shop have grown into welders, CDL operators, fabrication specialists, compliance leads, and repair techs. When you prove yourself, we help you grow in a direction that fits your strengths. Safety & Readiness Expectations We take safety seriously because it protects people, keeps contracts, and keeps the work moving. You'll be expected to maintain PPE, follow confined space and lockout procedures, keep your work areas clean, and communicate when something isn't safe. We will train you on proper loading and securement practices, but once trained, you are expected to own those responsibilities confidently. What You'll Be Doing This role includes diagnosing and repairing small gas and diesel equipment, maintaining high-pressure cleaning systems, and performing fabrication or shop improvement tasks. You'll also wash tanks and commercial equipment, prepare gear for field deployment, support spill response preparation, and help keep the shop clean, organized, and ready for the next job. Managing shifting priorities is part of the work—multitasking and initiative are essential here. 90-Day Success Benchmarks Within your first three months, you should be keeping work areas clean without reminders, understanding our equipment and shop layout, demonstrating strong work ethic, safely loading and delivering gear, performing maintenance with minimal supervision, communicating effectively, and taking initiative based on priorities rather than waiting for direction. Who You Are You are mechanically inclined—whether through hobby work or training—clean, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities at once. You're willing to learn hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, fabrication, and the realities of dirty or confined work when required. Most importantly, you are someone who says, "Yes, I'll figure it out," and follows through. People who excel here don't wait to be told—they see what needs to be done and make it happen. Real Success Stories We don't hire people to stay stagnant. One former entry-level tech discovered a passion for welding, became certified, and is now pipeline welding for a major company. Another started as a tank cleaner, earned a CDL, and now manages fleet compliance and steps in as foreman. A recent hire also earned his CDL and has become one of our best pump and electrical repair techs. If you put in the effort, we will do what we can to help you grow. Pay & Benefits Starting wage is $25/hour and higher for experience. Benefits include 401(k), nine paid holidays (including your birthday) and paid time off, a cell phone stipend, bonuses in good years, opportunities for prevailing wage work, and a team environment where people enjoy working together. Schedule This is a full-time, onsite role working Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Overtime may be required when supporting production needs or emergency response. How to Apply A resume is great, but we value capability more than formatting. When applying, please include: Something you've built or repaired Tools or equipment you know how to use A time you solved a problem without being told A project you're proud of Let's see what you can bring—and what you want to become.
