Job Description

Overview:
CHENEGA HEALTHCARE SERVICES, LLC
Fort Irwin, CA The Vehicle Inspector shall be responsible for conducting technical inspections on all GSA vehicles.
Responsibilities:
Conduct technical inspections prior to all vehicles going to the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) maintenance shop or a local repair shop as well as the vehicles returning to the TMP yard. All technical inspections will be conducted in accordance with appropriate regulations and technical manuals. Responsible for preparing reports for deadline deficiencies, minor, and major repair needing to be done by the appropriate local repair shop. Ensure all records are properly prepared and accurate. Responsible for tracking data and reporting maintenance status to Supervision. Inspect all Transportation Motor Pool vehicles to include, sedans, vans, shuttles, and stake beds with lift however not limited. Coordinate with GSA vendors on vehicle status and inform dispatchers of any vehicle movement necessary to ensure mission success daily. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School graduate or GED Minimum one (1) year of experience driving a straight truck, from 1½ to 4 inclusive, usually 6 wheels CDL with Hazmat Endorsement preferred. Ability to obtain the following prior to employment and while on company time and/or operating any vehicle must be carried on person: Valid state driver's license; may be required to obtain valid Commercial Driver's license and Class A Military Driver's license. Logistic Readiness Center Contact Number Card. Documents are subject to change for approved military drivers per Army regulation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to comply with MAC maintenance allocation chart in ensuring inspections are completed and reported in a timely manner. Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines. Ability to obtain commercial license and Class A for property vehicle inspection and movement. Excellent skills in verbal and written communications to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Proficient in alphanumeric file systems and maintain records in accordance with such. Microsoft office excel skills preferred for recordkeeping. Comply with all company rules, regulations, SOP's safety policies and collective bargaining agreement. Ability to perform under all weather conditions, rain, wind and shine, extreme heat as well as cold during summer and winter.
