Responsibilities:
Perform visual inspections of structural welds, specifically related to steel bridge components, to verify compliance with approved specifications, codes, and industry standardsReview, interpret, and apply welding procedures, inspection criteria, and applicable regulationsIdentify welding defects, nonconformances, and quality concerns; communicate findings clearly and professionallyVerify corrective actions and ensure issues are resolved in accordance with project and regulatory requirementsMaintain accurate inspection records and reports in accordance with GPI and client standardsCollaborate effectively with contractors, project teams, and clients while maintaining professional working relationshipsPromote and support a strong culture of safety, quality, and compliance in the field
Qualifications:
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or equivalent (CPWI) is requiredNICET Level 1 or 2 or 3, EIT or PE, or a CCM from CMAAValid drivers license with a satisfactory driving recordStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven problem-solving ability and attention to detailComfortable working in field environments and addressing challenges in real timeAdvanced or additional welding inspection certificationsPrior experience supporting transportation infrastructure projects
