Job Description
  • Inspecting bridge construction activities such as foundations, piles, abutments, piers, deck pours, bearings, expansion joints, and structural steel
  • Verifying compliance with ODOT and project specifications
  • Observing and documenting materials placement (concrete, rebar, prestressing, coatings, asphalt approaches)
  • Coordinating materials testing (concrete sampling, strength tests, weld inspections)
  • Reviewing plans and shop drawings to confirm work aligns with design intent
  • Tracking quantities and progress for pay estimates and project records
  • Documenting daily reports, photos, deficiencies, and corrective actions

  • 5-10 years of experience minimum
  • ODOT prequalification for a Structures Inspector
  • Experience in inspecting bridge construction activities
  • Prior ODOT experience
  • Any level of experience in bridge engineering, with a focus on ODOT projects.
Strong knowledge of ODOT design standards, specifications, and procedures. Civil engineering degree or related degree
