Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Trailer Inspector and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of trailers and heavy equipment. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of machinery, including farm equipment, industrial tools, and transportation trailers. As a Trailer Inspector, you will be responsible for thorough inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance to uphold safety standards and operational efficiency. Your expertise will help keep our fleet running smoothly and safely, supporting our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. Duties Inspect trailer tires, brakes, lights, and reflectors to ensure they are in safe working condition. Check the trailer body, doors, and landing gear for any visible damage or defects. Verify trailer number, unit number, and carrier information before allowing entry or exit. Match the seal number on the trailer with the shipping documents. Ensure drivers provide clear and valid paperwork before entering the yard. Take photos of the trailer condition during arrival and departure if required. Report any damage, missing seal, or safety concern to the supervisor immediately. Record inspection details in the yard system or inspection log. Guide drivers to the correct parking area or dock door according to instructions. Prevent trailers with safety issues or missing documents from entering or leaving the yard. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent education preferred. Basic knowledge of trailer parts and safety inspection. Ability to identify damage, tire issues, and safety concerns on trailers. Good communication skills to interact with drivers and yard staff. Ability to read and verify shipping documents and seal numbers. Basic computer or mobile app skills for entering inspection records. Ability to take clear photos and document trailer conditions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions. Reliable, responsible, and able to follow company safety procedures. Must have minimum 6 months experience .
