Position Overview We are seeking experienced, safety-conscious TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuator) / Shadow Vehicle Drivers to join our team immediately. In this role, you will be the ultimate line of defense for our ground crews and the motoring public, operating specialized impact-absorption vehicles in active work zones.

Key Responsibilities Safety Operation:

Safely operate a Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) vehicle as a shadow/protective barrier in mobile or stationary work zones.

Crew Protection:

Maintain strict positioning protocols to shield ground crews from oncoming traffic.

Setup & Breakdown:

Assist with the efficient deployment and retrieval of temporary traffic control devices (signs, cones, barrels) as needed.

Inspection & Compliance:

Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; immediately report any mechanical or safety issues. Adherence to

Policy:

Follow all company safety protocols, including participation in daily "Stretch and Flex" programs and weekly toolbox safety meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating a TMA truck or heavy commercial vehicle in a traffic control setting.

Licensing:

Must possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (CDL preferred, but not always required depending on vehicle class).

Certifications:

Active VDOT or ATSSA Flagger Certification is highly preferred.

Acuity:

Strong spatial awareness, quick reflexes, and the ability to remain highly focused during long shifts.

Flexibility:

Ability to work variable shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, depending on project schedules.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods when assisting on the ground. What We Offer Competitive hourly pay (commensurate with experience).
