Full-Time Job Description:
Knik Construction is seeking a qualified Airport Traffic Control Flagger to support construction activities within active airport environments. This position is responsible for safely controlling and monitoring the movement of aircraft, vehicles, personnel, and equipment within the Airport Operations Area (AOA) while maintaining constant communication with flight crews and ground personnel. Responsibilities Maintain continuous visual and radio communication with aircraft and ground crews Monitor and control the movement of personnel and equipment within the Airport Operations Area (AOA) Communicate using two‑way radios on the Common Traffic Advisory Frequency (CTAF - 122.9 MHz) Coordinate with other airport flaggers, construction crews, and supervisors Install, maintain, and remove traffic control signs and markers as required Operate flagging paddles in accordance with Alaska Traffic Manual standards Remain alert to changing conditions and immediately respond to potential safety hazards Requirements Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read, write, and clearly relay instructions Good eye‑hand coordination, hearing, and vision (corrective vision acceptable) Ability to quickly respond to unexpected events or hazards Physically capable of standing for extended periods in variable and adverse weather conditions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Proficient in the use of two‑way radios, including CTAF (122.9 MHz) Must use flagging paddles that meet Alaska Traffic Manual standards All employment offers are contingent on a satisfactory background check and pre‑employment drug screen
