Quality Control Tech- PHX airport

SUMMARY The Catering Quality Control Technician is responsible for verifying that all airline catering orders are accurately prepared and meet airline specifications prior to departure. This role ensures compliance with quality standards, food safety requirements, and operational accuracy within the SkyCafe flight kitchen. The Quality Control Technician serves as a final checkpoint to identify and resolve discrepancies before carts are released for transport to aircraft.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect and verify catering carts and flight setups to ensure all required items are present and meet airline specifications Conduct quality checks on all catering components, including food temperature, presentation, labeling, and equipment placement Identify, document, and report discrepancies or defects, ensuring corrective action is taken prior to departure Confirm final counts and specifications with drivers and kitchen staff before carts are released for transport Support flight kitchen operations, including assisting with cart setup, staging, and movement as needed Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, drivers, and operational leadership to ensure accuracy and timeliness Respond to flight schedule changes and adjust quality checks to meet operational demands Maintain compliance with all company safety, security, and food safety standards Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to workplace safety protocols Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS 18

years of age or older Eligible to work in the United States Ability to work onsite and in operational environments Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking) Ability to obtain and maintain required airport and security clearances Ability to pass a background check and drug screen Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety standards Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to follow safety procedures and food handling guidelines Ability to operate equipment relevant to the position (e.g., forklifts, catering vehicles) preferred Previous experience in airline catering, food production, quality control, or a related field preferred Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
