Position Overview The Traffic Control Yard Technician is responsible for ensuring traffic control crews are properly equipped and ready for safe and efficient deployment to job sites. This role supports daily yard operations, including inventory management, equipment readiness, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The position is critical to ensuring field teams operate efficiently and without delays. Key Responsibilities Equipment & Inventory Management Load and unload traffic control trucks with cones, barricades, signage, message boards, and related equipment Verify all equipment is accounted for, functional, and ready for deployment Maintain accurate inventory counts using checklists or digital systems Track equipment usage and support timely reordering of supplies Yard Operations & Organization Clean, organize, and store traffic control equipment in designated yard areas Ensure materials are easily accessible for efficient loading and deployment Tag and document damaged or out-of-service equipment for repair or replacement Assist with light maintenance and repairs of equipment and tools Safety & Compliance Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies and procedures Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety meetings and job hazard assessments Operational Support Support traffic control crews with preparation, loading, and job-specific setup needs Assist with organizing and staging equipment for upcoming projects Contribute to efficient turnaround times for truck loading and unloading What Success Looks Like Success in this role is typically demonstrated by: Accurate and reliable inventory management Efficient loading and unloading of equipment with minimal delays Well-organized yard operations that support field productivity Consistent adherence to safety standards and procedures Proactive identification and resolution of equipment or inventory issues Work Environment Yard-based role with outdoor work in varying weather conditions Physically active position involving lifting, loading, and organizing equipment Fast-paced environment supporting multiple project teams Equal Opportunity Employer ViaSun Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and makes employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected classification under applicable law.
