About Us Mid Lane Carriers is a local drayage trucking company based in Wilmington, CA, operating for over 10 years with a fleet of 40 trucks. We specialize in local container transportation within a 150-mile radius of the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. As we continue to grow, we are seeking motivated individuals to join our team. Position Overview We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Lead Dispatcher to oversee daily dispatch operations. This role requires a confident, detail-oriented individual with strong knowledge of port operations, terminal appointments, and driver coordination. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to efficiency, accuracy, and team collaboration. Key Responsibilities Schedule and secure terminal appointments for imports and empty returns Coordinate and schedule customer deliveries Dispatch and monitor drivers to ensure timely and efficient service Communicate with customers regarding delivery updates and special requirements Track and monitor container status at port terminals Minimize dry runs and optimize routing Assist drivers with issues that arise during deliveries Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, routes, and delivery times Perform administrative duties including email correspondence, data entry, scanning, and filing Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in port trucking/dispatching Strong understanding of terminal operations, per diem, and demurrage Ability to schedule, trace, and manage container movements Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure Professional demeanor with the ability to handle various personalities High attention to detail and strong work ethic Bilingual in Spanish is a plus Requirements Proven experience dispatching and monitoring drivers Ability to interpret contract rules and requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills Why Join Mid Lane Carriers?
