Job Description

Quality Technician (AMG-Danbury) The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting and executing daily Quality Assurance activities to ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards. This role focuses on inspection, documentation, and quality system support to maintain compliance with AS9100 and AS13100 requirements while driving continuous improvement across production processes.
Responsibilities:
Perform in-process and final inspections of product to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and AS13100 standards. Assist with First Article Inspections (FAIs) and preparation of associated documentation. Participate in internal audits and support external customer, AS9100, and NADCAP audits as required. Review and verify inspection records, certifications, and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness. Utilize root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, FMEA, corrective action methodologies) to support nonconformance investigations and corrective actions. Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to identify quality issues, support process improvements, and ensure quality standards are met. Support calibration activities and maintain inspection equipment records. Assist with supplier quality activities, including document review and vendor certification support. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement on the shop floor. Maintain compliance with ITAR and all applicable customer and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality environment. Working knowledge of AS9100 and | or AS13100 quality standards. Experience with mechanical drawings, GD&T, and inspection methods. Familiarity with root cause and corrective action tools ( 5 Whys, FMEA, etc. ). Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.• Must be able to perform detailed visual inspections using microscopes and other magnification tools. U.S. citizenship is required for technical data access compliance (ITAR). Why Work at AMG?
