Clarificion from the agency This is a Indefinite/Temporary appointment, with a time limit determined by the needs of the agency. Current Technicians selected will retain the appointment stus currently in, (i.e., Permanent or Indef) and placed on a temporary promotion or approprie personnel action if selected for this position. Conversion to permanent stus may be accomplished when permanent funding is approved. Duties Help The purpose of this position is to provide planning, scheduling and control of aircraft maintenance through a variety of support maintenance shops.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implements preliminary (advance) maintenance plans for assigned weapon systems and schedules immedie maintenance for transient aircraft. Designes, maintains and monitors current maintenance repair priorities of aircraft to ensure actuality and compliance with flying schedules. Authorizes and assigns aircraft maintenance jobs, job control numbers ei ther manually or through a computerized maintenance system, work priorities, and start and completion times f or scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of aircraft. Conducts the control and dispch of shop assignments. Monitors progress of job completion by dispched personnel. Controls maintenance on assigned aircraft and reled support and training equipment. Takes prompt and decisive action to make on•the-spot adjustments to maintenance repair priorities necessited by unscheduled maintenance requirements, and incorpores all unscheduled maintenance into a daily plan. Maintains visual aids depicting stus of maintenance actions in progress, specialist availability and stus of aerospace vehicles, aerospace ground equipment (AGE), training equipment, transportion and tow vehicles, munitions loads, arming of guns and munitions, and locion of aircraft and dispched AGE. Maintains a visual schedule of daily flying, noting deviions and cancellions. Coordines with Meriel Control on mission capable (MICAP) and non-mission capable stus (NMCS) of parts, adjustments to in-shop work priorities, and verificion of urgency of need designors. Determines the source of supply for cannibalizion actions. Coordines with Quality Assurance on functional check flight (FCF) requirements, Air Operions on flying schedule, other maintenance shops for coordinion of repair work and with other functional areas as required. Requests necessary support services such as fire fighting activity standby, fuel and defuel and civil engineer support. Directs physical movement of aircraft and aerospace ground equipment. Controls the maintenance communicions and transportion systems to provide for the effective transmission of informion and movement of merial and maintenance personnel. Develops and maintains current procedural check sheets for use during actions such as mass loads comb turnaround, broken arrow (nuclear emergency), emergency notificion, aircraft crash, flightl1ne fire, severe weher warning evacuion. Monitors and revises the sequence of preselected aircraft required for contingency commitments. Makes required inputs to the automed da system and retrieves da and/or computer genered products as required. Conducts training of assigned military personnel. : Must have experience, educion and training which indices the candide can reason in quantitive terms, communice orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and da pertaining to repair operions and process characteristics of the production activity.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Must have specialized experience of 1-year equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07). Experience, educion and training scheduling workflow in more than one area and responsible for coordining products or merials from support activities. Experience in performing or supervising journeyman level work in a production facility. Experience preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in merials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes. Experience with current automion support programs to input da, provide stus of equipment, and monitor job order stus, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts stus, etc. It is not necessary for applicants to possess the
