SHEP Responder II - Assistant SHEP Supervisor (61032900)

Travels assigned routes, assisting stranded motorists with vehicle services such as fuel, water, tire changes, jump starts, etc. Acts as the Assistant SHEP Supervisor and assumes the duties of the supervisor in their absence. Travels assigned routes, assisting emergency response agencies during incidents. Clears travel lanes of disabled vehicles and debris, and assists with emergency traffic control. Records incident response activities at incident scenes, and communicates this information, as needed, to the Traffic Management Center Dispatcher. Inputs all recorded data daily. Serves as a mentor and lead trainer for all responders. Assists in the cleaning and maintaining of incident response vehicles and facilities as directed. Performs other related duties as assigned. A high school diploma and two (2) years of related experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.

Necessary Special Requirement:

Employee must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. The physical demands for the essential function involves manual dexterity, excellent vision, and may require lifting up to 60 lbs. May work outside of normal scheduled work week and during inclement weather. Work environment is generally in a truck and close proximity to heavy and fast moving traffic.
