The Traffic Supervisor provides functional leadership and operational support to the Traffic Department, ensuring the effective execution of logistics, transportation, and import/export processes. This role supports the Traffic Manager in coordinating team activities, monitoring critical workflows, and maintaining compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and service standards. The position requires strong organizational skills, technical logistics knowledge, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Functional Team Leadership Support the Traffic Manager in the planning, assignment, and follow-up of daily tasks for all Traffic team members. Serve as a primary point of reference within the department for operational inquiries, technical questions, and problem resolution. Monitor compliance with critical traffic and logistics processes, including: Claims management (Food Service, Retail, maritime, and international) Freight quotations and bookings Data entry and receiving documentation Customs entries, cargo releases, and SURI transactions Monthly reports, billing processes, and reconciliations Provide direct operational coverage when team members are absent or when workload volumes require additional support. Participate in cross-training initiatives and support the onboarding and integration of new team members. Operational Support Execute key logistics and traffic activities using platforms such as SURI, Steam Ship, ATR, Arbalet, and Workday. Follow up on carrier-related issues in coordination with traffic analysts and management. Validate, prepare, and submit critical shipping documentation, including ITN, BOL, EEI, invoices, and receiving folders. Support the coordination of consolidated domestic and international shipments. Maintain effective and professional communication with suppliers, carriers, warehouse operations, procurement, and accounting teams. Delegated Supervision and Team Development Act as an alternate leader in the absence of the Traffic Manager. Participate in management meetings, performance reviews, and logistics planning discussions as required. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, controls, and team efficiency. Collaborate in the development, review, and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Support compliance with established KPIs, deadlines, and internal or external audit requirements. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in logistics, transportation, or import operations. Intermediate knowledge of end-to-end traffic and logistics processes, including shipping operations, customs procedures, freight consolidation, documentation management, logistics platforms, and supplier coordination. Proven ability to lead teams, facilitate effective communication, and ensure proper follow-up on assigned tasks and deliverables. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics systems such as SURI, Steam Ship, and ATR. Fully bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal) - REQUIRED. Strong organizational skills with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement. Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong commitment to professional development. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Physical Requirements Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing office-based work, including meetings, data analysis, documentation review, and computer-based tasks. Ability to stand and walk occasionally within an office environment, such as moving between work areas or attending internal meetings. Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate office and communication equipment, including computers, keyboards, phones, and digital collaboration tools. Occasional lifting and/or carrying of light materials up to 15 pounds, such as documents, files, or small office supplies. Limited and infrequent travel may be required for internal meetings, training sessions, or occasional operational activities. Maintain professional appearance and attire in accordance with Ballester Hermanos, LLC's standards of conduct and corporate image guidelines. Work Environment This position is primarily based in a professional office setting with standard office equipment and technology. The role involves minimal travel and is predominantly sedentary in nature, with routine interaction across internal departments and external partners via digital communication tools. Occasional exposure to operational or warehouse environments may occur for coordination, audits, or process reviews; such visits are infrequent and short in duration and may involve moderate noise levels or temperature variations. The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured, fast‑paced office environment while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
