Lindon, UT Job Details Full-time $23 - $28 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Customer communication Teamwork Outdoor work Writing skills High school diploma or GED Driver's License Safety standard operating procedures Full Job Description The Traffic Control Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and removing traffic control devices on active roadway, utility, and construction job sites throughout Utah. This position supports safe work zones by following approved traffic control plans (TCPs) and ensuring all setups meet UDOT requirements, MUTCD standards, and company safety procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Traffic Control Setup, Removal, and Maintenance:
Setting up and removing traffic control devices in work zones. Setup lane closures, shoulder closures, and road closures. Maintain proper spacing, taper lengths, and sign placement per TCPs and standards. Inspect traffic control layouts throughout shift. Adjust or replace traffic control as job conditions change. Loading and unloading trucks. Hauling traffic control equipment using trailers. Setting up and removing arrow board and message board trailers. Filling and setting sandbags to secure signage. Flagging and directing traffic using a stop/slow paddle. Ensuring the safety of themselves, the traveling public, and the contractor. Writing daily traffic control logs. Taking pictures of incidents or accidents for reporting. Submit required paperwork. Writing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reports.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Ability to work long hours in outdoor environments in extreme weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repeatedly. Ability to stand for extended periods and walk on uneven terrain. Repeated climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and crawling. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and extended shifts as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS TCT
Certification (UDOT or ATSSA). OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain). Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record. High school diploma or GED (preferred). Minimum of 2+ years of experience in traffic control services (preferred). Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients, crew members, and management. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety protocols. Reliable Transportation to get to work.
