Job Description

JOB Work Schedule:
Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week; 7 days per week; 6:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
JOB SUMMARY
The Recreation Facility Attendant is responsible for assisting with the safe and successful operation of the Orange Beach Golf Center Pro-Shop operated by the City of Orange Beach Parks and Recreation Department. The employee handles retail sales of merchandise, golf rounds, and driving range access, while also assisting with course marshaling duties. Ensures proper handling of money. Handles interactions with the general public effectively and professionally. Assists with the operation of programs, activities, tournaments, and special events.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates and maintains computerized facility membership and management equipment and software. Maintains the front desk and pro-shop. Conducts daily maintenance of the driving range and related equipment. Responsible for restocking shelves with inventory in the pro shop. Informs the Golf Center Manager when equipment needs repair or maintenance. Maintains the cleanliness of the Pro Shop, when needed during operational hours. Maintains positive public relations at the Golf Center. Checks doors at the daily closing of the pro shop, storage building and simulator room. Enforces the Golf Center rules as listed in the Golf Center Policy handbook. Marshals the course to ensure proper use and to prevent damage to the facility. Monitors the parking lot to ensure compliance with facility policies, including no personal coolers or personal golf carts. All positions at the City of Orange Beach have the job responsibilities below: Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner. Maintains a highly professional attitude and demeanor at all times. Provides responsible, appropriate, and satisfactory leadership within the City. Communicates positively and professionally in all aspects of the position. Attends all department meetings, City meetings, and professional development activities. Becomes thoroughly familiar with all pertinent state and national policies and comply with said policies. Complies with City wide and departmental policies, as well as state and federal laws. Ensures the positive promotion of the City. Is prompt and punctual in reporting for work, meetings, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Comprehension of all aspects involved in the successful operation and functioning of a municipal golf center. Familiarity with all golf course and driving range equipment. Competence in all areas of golf center pro-shop operations. Professional skills to the degree the job necessitates, including certified skills in CPR, first aid, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma OR an equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Current and valid Driver's License. Willing and able to work overtime, nights, weekends, holidays and other non-standard hours when necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One to two years of college. One (1) year experience in golf center pro shop or other retail management.

Work involves moderate risks or discomforts, which may require special safety precautions. e.g., work around moving parts, machines, etc. Employees may be required to work outside in extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
