The Shift Lead is a key role responsible for reconciling and depositing cash payments from customers. This individual will also serve as the central point of communication between Team Leads and a Schedule Coordinator or PMSA management. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Shift Lead position includes greeting valet customers when checking in their vehicles through SMS Valet software. This position will also park and retrieve valet vehicles, upholding company standards for professionalism, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Important Note:
This position does not involve the authority to hire, fire, discipline, or take significant independent personnel actions. Any such matters are escalated to the Manager. As a result, the Shift Lead is eligible to participate in tip pooling.
Key Responsibilities include:
1.
Leadership & Team Management:
o Provide clear direction and support to valet attendants and Team Leads. o Train and onboard new team members to ensure consistent service quality. o Monitor team performance, addressing any issues, and escalating concerns to the Schedule Coordinator or Manager as needed. o Foster a positive work environment to motivate team members and promote collaboration. o Ensure that valet attendants follow company policies and procedures, maintaining a productive and team-oriented work environment. o Escalate any disciplinary or performance concerns to the Manager for further review. 2.
Administrative Duties:
o Monitor employee attendance, shift changes, and incidents. Report respective issues to the Schedule Coordinator. o Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and contractual obligations. o Assign employee rest and meal breaks in accordance with company policy and California labor law. o Reconcile and deposit cash payments from customers at designated drop boxes or to company personnel as directed by CEO 3.
Customer Service:
o Maintain cultural sensitivity and excellent customer service at all times. o Ensure a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all patrons. o Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly, escalating unresolved issues as needed. o Greet valet customers and open their vehicle's doors, ensuring a high level of customer service. o Manage the flow of vehicles by lifting and placing barricades, opening or closing parking areas as needed. o Checking vehicles in while inspecting for damage upon arrival through SMS Valet Software.
o Taking customer payments:
cash and credit card, using SMS Valet software. o Driving customer vehicles (both manual and automatic transmission) to and from designated parking spaces, while providing numbered tags to customers, ensuring a smooth parking experience. o Charging Electric Vehicles. o Provide guidance for customer self-parking. o Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the parking area by sweeping and removing debris. 4.
Safety and Security:
o Enforce safety protocols for team members and customers. o Monitor parking areas to prevent accidents, theft, or unauthorized access. o Report and document incidents promptly according to company policies. 5.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
o Remain "on the clock" at the job site until next Shift Lead change, reconciling revenue prior to the transition. o Capacity to manage high volumes of communication, particularly during peak times or emergencies. o Frequent standing, walking, and running during shifts. o Outdoor work in varying weather conditions. o Shift Leads may be required to lift, move, and position barricades and other equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. o Shift Leads must have flexible availability which include working daily / weekly overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays. o Shift Leads may occasionally be required to work 6 days per week, although this will not exceed 2 consecutive weeks. This description reflects the primary duties and responsibilities of the position but is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. The Shift Lead may perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Skills and Qualifications:
Associate's Degree from from an accredited institution Minimum of 6 years experience in hospitality Minimum of 6 years experience in valet parking Must have a valid California driver's license and be knowledgeable of basic vehicle operations (manual and automatic transmission). Must provide a current H-6 printout from the department of motor vehicles (DMV) within the past 30 days No D.U.I. (Driving Under the Influence) convictions No "2 point" incidents on DMV H-6 within the past 5 years Must agree to a criminal background investigation and reference verification Must be willing to submit to drug screening and possibly a medical examination Must follow all company rules and regulations Must always be well groomed, neat, and in company dress code/uniform whenever reporting to work Ability to work flexible hours, including being on call when necessary. Proven experience in scheduling, logistics, or administrative roles, preferably within valet, parking, or hospitality industries. Proficiency and familiarity with workforce management systems is a plus. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, while being able to multitask and work effectively under pressure. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively interact with staff and upper management. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills for resolving customer service conflicts. Ability to concentrate in a fast-paced environment with numerous distractions. Ability to work in inclement weather conditions. Knowledge of labor laws and regulations pertaining to meal and rest break schedules .
Pay:
$19.57 - $21.06 per hour
