POSITION SUMMARY
To provide supervision of students during the lunch/recess periods and to provide support to the teaching staff.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed. Demonstrated interest in children and education. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Monitors students' non-classroom activities such as lunch, playground, or free time activities. Communicates with building principal and teachers to share information on students. Monitors students non-instructional activities. Maintains a safe educational environment. Mediates student disputes or inappropriate behavior, and refers students to building administration as appropriate. Establishes positive relationships with students, and implements positive behavior management strategies. Maintains an effective and positive working relationship with staff, students and parents. Ensures the safety of students. Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships. Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgement. Maintains confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
187 Days (178 days same as student's schedule; 1 professional development day, 8 paid holidays); 3 hours per day excluding lunch. Salary as provided by the Negotiated Agreement. Work year to be established by the Board.
SALARY:
