Position Summary The Lead Porter is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Porter team while actively participating in porter responsibilities alongside the team. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all porter-related requests and ensures that tasks are assigned, completed efficiently, and held to SweetCars' high standards of cleanliness, organization, presentation, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of leading by example in a fast-paced automotive environment. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Coordination Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the Porter team. Assign tasks and prioritize responsibilities based on business needs. Ensure all porter duties are completed thoroughly, efficiently, and on schedule. Serve as the main contact for all porter-related requests from management and other departments. Delegate incoming requests appropriately and follow through to completion. Lead by example by maintaining a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and high standards. Operational Oversight Monitor dealership cleanliness, organization, lot appearance, and overall presentation standards. Ensure vehicles, service areas, customer areas, and dealership grounds remain neat, clean, and organized at all times. Maintain consistent attention to detail throughout the dealership. Assist in developing and implementing processes to improve efficiency and workflow. Identify areas for improvement and proactively address operational needs. Daily Porter Duties Participate in all regular porter responsibilities including: Moving and organizing vehicles Maintaining lot appearance Cleaning and preparing vehicles Supporting service and sales departments Assisting with deliveries and vehicle staging Managing vehicle locations Supporting dealership events and operational needs Assist with urgent tasks and ensure the team remains productive during busy periods. Accountability & Communication Track task completion and ensure responsibilities are properly executed. Communicate effectively with management and departments regarding priorities and timelines. Help train and mentor porter team members on expectations, standards, and procedures. Maintain professionalism and strong teamwork across all departments. Qualifications Previous porter, dealership, or automotive operations experience preferred. Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High attention to detail and pride in maintaining cleanliness and organization. Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate vehicles and move throughout dealership property. What Success Looks Like Porter operations run efficiently and consistently. Tasks are completed promptly without constant management oversight. The dealership remains exceptionally clean, organized, and presentation-ready. Communication between departments and the Porter team is streamlined. Team members understand expectations and work cohesively.
