This exciting role involves providing top-notch customer service, maintaining the arena, and supporting our operations. Essential Job Duties:
Deliver respectful, professional, and positive service in all interactions with co-workers, internal and external customers, community members, and the public at large. Maintain a positive and productive atmosphere, ensuring compliance with the City, Department, and Division's policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Perform tasks related to Public Skate Sessions, including: Managing rental skate operations Maintaining order and enforcing rules Providing stellar customer service and addressing injuries Operating cash tills and selling concession items Balancing the cash drawer at the end of each shift The City of Wentzville is committed to being an employer of choice, offering prosperous and meaningful career opportunities, excellent benefits, and flexibility. This is a part-time position, not to exceed an average of 29 hours per week. This job posting will remain open until filled. Job Qualifications - Education, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR. Prior relevant experience desired. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required within 90 days of the hire date. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with this position. Ability to develop a basic competency level in the area of operation. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and systems to accomplish tasks. Must be highly motivated and able to assume a positive and active role in the facility, even while working under potentially stressful conditions (cold weather, upset or injured participants, etc.). Must have the ability to be firm with participants when necessary, enforce rules, and make sound decisions in order to secure the safety and well-being of all visitors, facilities, and equipment. Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, and customers by telephone, in writing and in person. Ability to use good judgment and think rationally in difficult or stressful situations. Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work for self and others, as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in the use of basic business software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentations) and basic office equipment. Ability to work under direct supervision and collaboratively in a team environment. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty. Job requires being reliable, responsible and dependable. Ability to work irregular hours and assume added responsibilities as needed.
