Job Description

The Heathman Hotel is where Portland s cultural legacy meets timeless hospitality. Rooted in history yet thoughtfully evolved for the modern guest, The Heathman blends classic elegance with contemporary comfort in the heart of downtown Portland. We are seeking a warm, professional, and service-minded Valet Attendant to join our guest services team. As the first and last point of contact for many guests, the Valet Attendant plays a key role in creating a welcoming arrival and departure experience. This position is responsible for safely parking and retrieving guest vehicles, assisting with luggage and transportation needs, and delivering gracious, attentive service that reflects the hospitality and standards of The Heathman Hotel. Requested Tasks Greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure. Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain a strong presence at the hotel entrance, ensuring guests are welcomed promptly. Assist guests with luggage, packages, directions, transportation, and general hotel information. Open vehicle and hotel doors for guests and provide assistance as needed. Maintain accurate records of vehicle keys, valet tickets, and parking locations. Follow all safety procedures when driving, parking, and retrieving vehicles. Report any vehicle damage, guest concerns, safety issues, or unusual incidents to leadership immediately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the valet stand, driveway, and entrance area. Support bell, front desk, and guest services teams as needed to ensure a seamless guest experience. Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful, personalized service. Uphold hotel standards of professionalism, discretion, and care at all times. Requested Capabilities Previous valet, guest services, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred. Valid driver s license and clean driving record required. Ability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred. Professional, polished, and approachable presence. Strong communication and guest service skills. Ability to remain calm, courteous, and efficient in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand, walk, run short distances, bend, and move for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely enter, exit, and operate a variety of guest vehicles. Ability to perform repetitive movements as required by the role.
