Valet Parking Attendant Place of Performance :
Providence VA Medical Center, Providence, Rhode Island Schedule :
Monday through Friday during scheduled operating hours. Additional hours may be required during peak patient traffic periods, special events, staffing shortages, or operational emergencies as coordinated with VA personnel and onsite supervision.
Summary :
The Valet Parking Attendant provides professional valet and parking support services for Veterans, visitors, and staff at the Providence VA Medical Center. Personnel assigned to this position are responsible for safe vehicle handling, organizing traffic movement, providing customer assistance, maintaining key accountability, and fostering a courteous and professional environment within an active healthcare setting. This role requires strong customer service skills, professionalism, attentiveness, and the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced medical center environment.
Requirements:
The Valet Parking Attendant must: Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Be capable of safely operating automatic transmission vehicles; manual transmission experience preferred. Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills. Be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Be able to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods. Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times. Be capable of working safely in varied weather and traffic conditions. Be able to pass background screening requirements if required by the Government.
Duties:
Greeting Veterans, visitors, and VA personnel professionally and courteously. Receive and retrieve customer vehicles efficiently and safely. Issue and manage valet claim tickets accurately. Park vehicles only in authorized VA-designated parking areas. Maintain organized traffic flow within valet and drop-off areas. Assist elderly, disabled, or mobility-limited customers when required. Follow established key-control and vehicle accountability procedures. Inspect vehicles for visible pre-existing damage when necessary. Report accidents, incidents, safety hazards, or customer concerns immediately to supervision. Coordinate with onsite supervisors and VA personnel during operational issues or emergencies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of valet work areas. Support operational continuity during peak traffic periods and staffing adjustments. Follow all VA facility policies, safety procedures, and operational requirements. Maintain professional behavior and respectful interaction with all patients, visitors, and staff members.
