The Special Events Parking Lot Attendant is under the general direction and supervision of the Manager of Safety & Security and is responsible for overseeing vehicle traffic in our Zoo lots for all Zoo-related events. The work schedule is primarily 10:00 A.M
- 4:00 PM, with some night shifts, June
- August, for 2-4 shifts per week. In October
- December shifts are primarily evenings from 5:00 P.M
- 10:00 P.
M, supporting the Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular and Holiday Light Spectacular shows. A minimum of four shifts per week (at least a Friday or Saturday evening shift) is required. This position is considered part-time, seasonal, with most hours scheduled from June through early January. Additional off-season hours will also be scheduled as needed.
Responsibilities:
Monitor vehicle traffic flow from assigned designated area. Ensure that only permitted vehicles enter the Zoo lots. Efficiently and quickly assist guests to Zoo designated parking areas, entrance and exits. Courteously assist guests with Zoo event information. Report any known accidents, violations, unusual occurrences, or safety hazard to Special Event Parking Lot Supervisor on duty in a timely manner. Report any guest concerns to the Special Events Parking Lot Supervisor on duty in a timely manner. Assist with setting up and breaking down parking lot cones. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by the Manager of Safety & Security and/or the Chief Operations Officer. Ability to help with crowd control during organizational events. Direct traffic using the equipment provided. Required Experience, Training and/or
Education Required Experience and Education:
Previous customer service experience. Must be comfortable working with large crowds.
Preferred Experience and Education:
Parking lot experience. Recent experience working with diverse populations and fluency speaking additional languages. Competencies Customer service skills. Highly organized and able to work with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements Successful completion of a background check. Willingness to work flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends and holidays. Ability to work outdoors under various weather conditions.
