Job Description

Position Summary The Yard/Lot Attendant is the driving force behind a clean, organized, and secure tow yard. In this fast‑paced role, you'll keep vehicles moving smoothly, assist customers during releases, document vehicle conditions with accuracy, and support both drivers and office staff. As a key player in daily operations, you help maintain a safe yard environment and ensure efficient vehicle flow that keeps the entire operation running strong. Key Responsibilities Receive, log, and organize incoming vehicles from tow operators. Move vehicles within the yard using keys, dollies, or push‑assists as needed. Document vehicle condition, damages, and inventory details accurately. Assist customers with vehicle releases, paperwork, and escorting them to their vehicles. Maintain yard cleanliness, including debris removal and basic groundskeeping. Ensure vehicles are parked safely and in compliance with yard layout and security protocols. Monitor yard activity and report suspicious behavior or safety hazards. Support drivers with loading/unloading tasks when necessary. Operate small equipment such as jump boxes, tire inflators, and lockout tools. Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Assist with after‑hours or weekend operations as needed. Required Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to safely operate and maneuver vehicles of all makes and models. Basic understanding of vehicle controls and automotive safety. Strong communication and customer‑service skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Physical Requirements Lift, carry, and move items up to 50-75 lbs (vehicle parts, equipment, debris). Push or maneuver disabled vehicles short distances. Perform repeated bending, kneeling, reaching, and crouching throughout the shift. Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours).
