TEMPORARY ON-DEMAND PART-TIME BIG NATION STATION CAR WASH CLERK POSITION

Hourly Rate:

$20 per hour

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

: Promptly greets all customers in a friendly and helpful manner and seeks to identify opportunities to improve customer service at each encounter. Facilitates the fast processing of customer vehicles by following correct vehicle processing procedures and maintaining control of the flow of traffic and pedestrians in the Prep area. Performs visual inspections of the condition of each vehicle prior to entering the tunnel. Removes excess dirt and debris following proper cleaning procedures to ensure a quality result. Identifies cars that need equipment retracted to keep the amount of damage claims to a minimum. Cleans and maintains Big Nation Station (BNS) grounds regularly sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, gathering trash and emptying garbage cans and restocking supplies as needed. Keeps prep area free of slippery substances or debris that could create potential safety hazards. Maintains clean equipment and tools and promptly reports any repair issues to the Manager. Ensures vacuums are unclogged and hoses hung properly. Because of the MDC's commitment to community service and the well being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION

(required and preferred) : Six (6) months of car wash experience.

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION

: Money handling for Car Wash services (if applicable), customer relations, strong communication, interpersonal relations, general cleaning skills, multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

: The working conditions described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this class. The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and direct a motor vehicle. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend at the waist, twist, crouch, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to grasp, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, and use foot controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to non-weather related hot and/or cold temperatures, wet and/or humid conditions, and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, dusts, odors, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can occasionally be loud.
