Job Description

This is a Monday-Friday part time position. The hours are 7A-9A and 2P - 4
P Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent, and Valid Driver's License Clean Driving Record Ability to lift 40 pounds Criminal Record Check required Pre-employment drug testing required Previous experience providing services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Job Specifications:
General Duties Transport students to and from the Jenkins in the morning and afternoon. Transport students/clients on various outings outside normal work hours with advance notice of the scheduled event. Provide preventative maintenance inspections on the vehicle on a daily basis to include: Gas Brakes Wipers & Washers Oil Tires Heater & Defroster Water Headlights Hoses & Fan belts Fluid Levels Tail Lights Horn Brake Lights Signal Lights Stop Signal Lights Maintain adequate gas level. Level should never be below ¼ tank when parked. Vehicle is to be re-fueled after last delivery in the afternoon or before first pick up in the morning. Vans are not to be refueled with consumers on board. Ensure that each person on the van wears a seatbelt. Notify the coordinator of any problems with seatbelts. At appropriate times, the van driver will notify the coordinator of maintenance needs to include but not limited to: Oil changes (not to exceed 3000 miles), filters, lube, anti-freeze checks. Report any malfunctions of the vehicle to the Coordinator as soon as possible. Maintain a transportation record as required by Medicaid & DDS. Document any inappropriate activity of consumers, and report these behaviors to Coordinator. Work harmoniously with other staff to maintain a good work and learning environment and provide role models for consumers. Report physical illness, accidents resulting in injury, seizures, suspected abuse, suspected maltreatment, other health related matters, and any other concerns to the supervisor and/or director. Perform any other duties as assigned.
