Drivers work as a team, under the dispatch of our Fleet Supervisor. The driver's priority is to provide transportation in a safe, comfortable, and timely manner. Essential Functions
- Transports residents using a company vehicle to and from appointments in a safe and comfortable manner, following all traffic laws.
- Drives residents to events and community programs per the activity schedule.
- Works under the guidance and dispatch of our Fleet Supervisor, ensuring the residents arrive in a comfortable, safe, and timely manner.
- Provides a positive experience for our residents by assisting them in and out of the vehicle. This may include assisting residents in and out of the vehicle utilizing the wheelchair lift and/or stairs, if needed.
- Monitors and maintains vehicles in a clean and orderly manner. Checks safety of car(s), bus(s) and/or van(s) by conducting daily inspections of vehicles for safety and cleanliness, pre and post trips. Reports needed repairs to Fleet Supervisor.
- Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.
- Responds immediately and appropriately to all accidents and emergencies, based on established protocol.
- Maintain all Freedom Plaza health, safety, and transportation protocols.
- Positive costumer service experience for all residents, family/friends, and staff we interact with.
- Provide a level of flexibility within their schedule
- Ability to work in a positive teamwork environment. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years of driving experience.
- Must have clearance with AZ Motor Vehicle Department with no serious violations.
- Able to obtain DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate upon hire.
