This position requires a dependable individual who can operate a van efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. The driver will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition through routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Additionally, the role involves interacting courteously with clients, including assisting frail elderly passengers and ensuring their comfort and safety during transit. Ultimately, the Van Driver contributes to the overall success of the transportation operation by delivering exceptional service and maintaining high standards of personal and vehicle hygiene.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record appropriate for operating a van. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Demonstrated ability to assist passengers with care and sensitivity. Strong visual acuity to perform vehicle inspections and navigate safely.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a professional van or delivery driver. Certification in first aid or CPR. Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns within the California. Experience in maintaining vehicle cleanliness to a high standard. Customer service experience, particularly with elderly, children or vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities:
Operate a van to transport passengers safely to designated locations following planned routes and schedules. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the van is in safe operating condition and report any defects or maintenance needs. Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and securing their comfort and safety throughout the journey. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of the vehicle interior and exterior, including floor care and personal hygiene. Communicate effectively in English with clients, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate transportation coverage and resolve any issues. Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure a secure transportation environment.
