Canine Enrichment Coach / Pack Hike Leader / Shuttle Driver DEN Urban Dog Retreat - Los Angeles, CA Lead adventures. Teach dogs. Change lives. DEN Urban Dog Retreat is looking for an experienced dog professional to join our team as a Canine Enrichment Coach, Pack Hike Leader, and Shuttle Driver. This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves training, behavior, enrichment, outdoor adventures, and working closely with both dogs and their people. The ideal candidate is confident leading pack hikes, facilitating small group classes, teaching basic obedience, and creating engaging experiences that help dogs build confidence, social skills, and balance. Position Overview This role combines dog training, enrichment programming, transportation, and adventure-based learning. You will safely transport dogs, lead structured pack hikes, assist with behavior development, facilitate small group classes, and help create innovative enrichment programs that support the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of our canine guests. ResponsibilitiesDog Training & Enrichment Lead small group training classes Teach basic obedience and life skills Reinforce positive behaviors throughout the day Assist with behavior modification plans under company protocols Create engaging enrichment activities for dogs of varying ages and temperaments Help develop new classes, workshops, and wellness programs Agility & Confidence Building Facilitate beginner agility and obstacle courses Guide confidence-building exercises Introduce dogs to balance equipment, tunnels, platforms, and enrichment stations Design fun and safe challenges that improve focus, coordination, and confidence Pack Hikes & Adventure Programs Lead structured pack hikes with groups of up to 6 dogs Maintain calm, safe group dynamics Monitor behavior and social interactions Utilize hikes as opportunities for training, engagement, and relationship building Document dog progress and participation Shuttle Transportation Safely transport dogs between DEN and client homes Operate company vehicles and maintain transportation logs Ensure safe loading and unloading procedures Provide a positive and professional client experience Daycare & Operations Support Assist with daycare groups as needed Monitor canine health, behavior, and safety Communicate observations to leadership and pet parents Maintain facility cleanliness and organization QualificationsRequired Professional dog training experience Strong understanding of canine behavior and body language Experience leading group activities with dogs Ability to safely manage multiple dogs simultaneously Excellent communication and leadership skills Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record Comfortable working outdoors and being physically active Preferred Group class instruction experience Agility training experience Pack walk or pack hike experience Daycare or boarding experience Fear Free Certification Canine First Aid & CPR Certification AKC, CCPDT, IAABC, KPA, or equivalent training background Ideal Candidate You are: Passionate about dog behavior and enrichment Comfortable speaking to groups and coaching pet parents Energetic, positive, and solution-oriented A natural leader capable of managing both dogs and people Excited about building programs and growing with a company Interested in helping shape the future of dog wellness Opportunities to Lead This role may eventually oversee: Puppy socialization groups Adventure Club programs Agility and confidence classes Urban pack hikes Enrichment workshops Daycare training integration Community dog wellness events Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Tips and bonuses Continuing education opportunities Discounts on DEN services Advancement into training and leadership roles Work with an exceptional team of dog professionals Spend your days outdoors, active, and making a difference in dogs' lives About DEN Urban Dog Retreat DEN Urban Dog Retreat is more than daycare.
