Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Preschool/School Age Float Teacher or Teacher Assistant to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will serve as a flexible, energetic presence across various classrooms, providing support to all coteachers and their students. This person must also pass a driving background check to be scheduled to drive one of the center vans to and from our local schools for morning drop off and afternoon pick up during the school year (August-May). Requirements All applicants must meet the standards set forth in IL DCFS Rule 407, Licensing Standards for Child Care Centers. This includes having earned a HS Diploma or GED, having a medical exam, being fingerprinted for a background check, and providing 3 written references. Applicants must be able to work Monday-Friday, this is a 5 day a week position. Duties Provide classroom coverage and support in preschool and school-age classrooms. Assist with curriculum development and lesson planning Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional development Support classroom management by implementing behavior management strategies that foster positive behavior and cooperation Collaborate with coteachers to implement individualized plans for children requiring special education or early intervention services Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that adheres to center standards and daycare regulations Communicate effectively and positively with children, parents, and team members Skills Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Experience working with children across various age groups Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management Familiarity with special education strategies and early intervention programs Excellent communication skills Demonstrated ability to manage behavior positively while maintaining a nurturing environment Experience in daycare or private school settings is required Passion for working with children and supporting their overall growth and welfare Join our team in LAUNCHing children into a life of love and learning.
