Responsibilities Safely operate a cargo van, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations during route driving. Load and unload packages efficiently using manual handling techniques, heavy lifting skills, or equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary. Deliver goods accurately to designated locations, maintaining a professional and courteous attitude with customers. Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries, adjusting as needed for traffic or unforeseen obstacles. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure the cargo van is in excellent condition and report any maintenance issues promptly. Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, pickups, and mileage for record-keeping purposes. Collaborate with warehouse staff for inventory management and coordinate loading schedules to maximize efficiency. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving box trucks or similar commercial vehicles is preferred. Proven delivery driver experience, especially with route driving and courier services. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Ability to lift heavy loads repeatedly, demonstrating physical strength and stamina. Experience with warehouse operations, including moving items using forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus. Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles is desirable; familiarity with heavy lifting equipment enhances your candidacy.
