This role ensures the safety, supervision, and timely arrival of all children while maintaining compliance with childcare transportation regulations. Key Responsibilities Safely transport children to and from schools, field trips, and program activities Follow all traffic laws and childcare transportation guidelines Ensure children are properly secured with seat belts or appropriate restraints Conduct daily vehicle inspections (before and after trips) Maintain a clean and safe vehicle at all times Keep accurate transportation logs, attendance, and incident reports Communicate effectively with staff regarding pickup/drop-off schedules Supervise children during loading and unloading of the vehicle Ensure no child is left unattended in the vehicle at any time Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or concerns immediately to administration Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Minimum age requirement (based on state regulations, typically 21+) Previous experience driving children or working in childcare preferred Ability to pass background check and drug screening CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong attention to safety and detail Skills & Abilities Excellent driving and navigation skills Be able to drive a 15 passenger van Strong communication and teamwork abilities Patience and ability to work well with children Ability to remain calm in emergency situations Reliable and punctual Work Schedule Monday-Friday Morning and afternoon routes (split shift may apply) Additional hours during summer camp for field trips and activities Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods Ability to assist children entering and exiting the vehicle Ability to lift up to 25-40 lbs if needed . You would also be driving the children to parks and transporting to field trips. You will be asked to keep two vans clean by vacuuming and taking them to the car wash, or to the garage for maintenance. We are looking for someone with a good attitude and can follow directions.
