Job Description
Position Summary:
The Leap Program is a day program that offers services to adults with severe mental illness. Services include educational groups on a variety of topics including social/recreational activities, and social support. The LEAP program Van Driver will transport clients between designated locations throughout Cincinnati.Position Description:
Drop off and pick up of up to 20 group members to and from the day programServe as the primary contact for transportation communicationOpen the vehicle door for passengers to enter and exitEnsure passengers feel safe and secureEnsure timely conveyance of passengers to their destinationEnsure that vehicles are kept neat and tidy at all timesCarry out routine checks on vehiclesIdentify electrical and mechanical faults and report concerns to the supervisorRead map and check weather and traffic reports to determine the best time to travel, and the best route to takeDiscussing current eventsAssisting in the psycho social activityAssisting in planning the monthly calendar and outingsAssisting with outingsPlanning routesOther duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate actionEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to interact in a calm and compassionate mannerAbility to collaborate/interact with wide variety of peopleKnowledge of code of ethics, conflict of interest and regulatory requirementsDemonstrate professional speech and behaviorDetach from client issues and view objectivelyJob Requirements:
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalentValid Drivers license and auto insuranceGood Driving Record and Valid Driver's LicenseMust be at least 25 years of age per insurance qualificationsMust be able to meet underwriting criteria and approved as an Agency DriverComfortable navigating throughCincinnatiEssential Functions/Physical Demands:

Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Occasional standing and walking. Constant sitting.Gross Mobility:
Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Frequent to constant reaching and handling.Sensory:
Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation.
