Job Description

Support Services Provider Type:
Full-Time Shift:
Tuesday-Saturday, Various shifts based on resident needs with outing, appointments, and activities
Wage:
$24.40-$31.84/hr DOE Attendance bonus : The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Jobs Avamere at Chestnut Lane is a Deaf and DeafBlind Community. Proficiency in American Sign Language and Tact ile Sign Language is necessary for this position.
Responsibilities:
Provide clear and consistent sensory information that is intended to facilitate and enhance learning and interaction with the physical environment, society, and living independently. Relay visual and environmental information that may not be heard or seen by the deaf-blind individual using their preferred language and communication mode. Convey information from American Sign Language (ASL) or English tacitly. Model ability to support RA by doing RA tasks onsite and offsite. Ensure all policies are followed related to resident emergency care, incidents/accidents procedure and reporting, notifying emergency response providers and rendering First Aid until emergency personnel arrive. Escort community residents to allow them to perform activities of daily living, which may include doctor's appointments, banking, and other activities. Provide and help with available transportation (by car, bus, or other conveyance), and serve as a guide while walking. Assists passengers in and out of vehicle, operates ramps, lifts and secures devices as needed. Safely load and secure wheelchair clamps or safety belts according to company policy and procedure. Presents safety briefing to passengers prior to each trip departure. Operates assigned vehicle with a safe and courteous manager. Maintains defensive driving. Monitor the ongoing condition of the bus during operation. Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management. Fuels assigned vehicle(s) and monitors vehicle maintenance tasks and informs management of needed maintenance or repairs. Keeps assigned vehicles clean inside and out. Follow all policies outlined in the company Fleet Safety Program, including the Driver Safety Rules. Participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as necessary or may be directed. Attends and participates in required facility in-service and trainings. Follows company policy and procedures. Adheres to the corporate compliance program and standards of conduct. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information (HIPAA). Report all grievances and complaints made by the resident to immediate supervisor, all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property. Reports all unsafe or hazardous conditions or equipment immediately Reports missing/illegible labels and MSDS's to supervisor.
Qualifications:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high-school diploma or its equivalent. Proficiency in the communication modes and techniques used by the deaf-blind population, including American Sign Language (ASL). State certification may be required. Maintain current CPR, First-Aid, and Food Handler cards. Must possess a current and unencumbered class C driver's license. Must pass company driver safety program/test. Ability to communicate effectively in ASL/English with residents, family members and other associates of the company Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/services appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to interact professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must be flexible to work hours necessary to complete the responsibilities of this position. Previous experience working in senior living is preferred. Must have at least three years driving experience.
