Please read the following carefully before submitting your application: This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position, not a W-2 employee position. Pay is $27.00 per hour . The company provides the wheelchair-accessible van. Drivers are responsible for 50% of fuel costs and 50% of oil change expenses . Drivers must complete and maintain the following certifications: First Aid & CPR PASS (Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity) Bloodborne Pathogens Defensive Driving Applicants who do not currently have these certifications may still apply; however, all certifications must be completed before transporting clients. Training costs will be fully reimbursed after 30 days of active employment . This position requires driving for extended periods and transporting individuals with mobility limitations. Wheelchair Van Driver (1099 Independent Contractor) Trusted Medical Transportation is seeking a reliable, professional, and compassionate Wheelchair Van Driver to join our growing team. We provide non-emergency medical transportation services to clients throughout the Portland metro area and surrounding counties. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others, have a strong safety mindset, and are comfortable driving for extended periods throughout the day. Compensation $27.00 per hour 1099 Independent Contractor position Company-provided wheelchair-accessible vehicle Drivers are responsible for 50% of fuel expenses and 50% of oil change costs Opportunity for consistent weekday work Schedule Monday through Friday Typical hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Additional hours may be available based on transportation demand Job Responsibilities Safely transport clients to and from medical appointments, treatments, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and other approved destinations Assist passengers entering and exiting the wheelchair van Properly secure wheelchairs and mobility devices using approved tie-down systems Maintain a professional and respectful attitude with clients, family members, healthcare staff, and dispatch personnel Complete trip documentation accurately and on time Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections Follow all company policies, state regulations, and HIPAA confidentiality requirements Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of wheelchair van driving experience preferred Experience in Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) preferred Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to safely assist individuals with mobility limitations Familiarity with the Portland metro area and surrounding counties Minimum Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Minimum age of 21 years old Ability to pass a background check Ability to safely lift and maneuver wheelchairs and mobility equipment Reliable smartphone for communication and trip management Professional appearance and dependable attendance Required Certifications & Training Drivers must possess or obtain the following certifications: First Aid & CPR Certification PASS (Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity) Certification Bloodborne Pathogens Training Defensive Driving Certification Applicants who do not currently have these certifications are still encouraged to apply. Drivers will be required to complete all required training before transporting clients. Training costs will be fully reimbursed after 30 days of active employment with the company.
