PT School Van Driver AM/PM - Leaders and Legends Preschool

In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children to and from school during morning and afternoon shifts. Responsibilities Safely operate school vans during designated AM and PM routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of children. Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to maintain a secure transportation environment. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness before each route. Manage behavior on the bus using positive reinforcement techniques, ensuring a calm and respectful atmosphere for all passengers. Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and passenger counts in compliance with company standards. Assist children with boarding and exiting the vehicle, providing support as needed for those with special needs or disabilities. Requirements Must have a Valid Driver's License and Clean Motor Vehicle Record Must Pass all state and criminal background checks Must be able to pass fire safety training Must be able to pass health and safety, mandated Reporter and CPR trainings Experience Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving, preferably with school bus or paratransit vehicles. Strong knowledge of driving safety procedures, vehicle maintenance basics, and traffic regulations. Excellent communication skills Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable. Ability to handle behavior management effectively while maintaining patience and professionalism. Mechanical knowledge of vehicle operation is advantageous for routine inspections and minor troubleshooting.
