Job Summary The driver provides transportation for residents to private appointments, area shopping centers, and periodic events scheduled through the Resident Services Department for The Village at Incarnate Word. The driver, as a member of the Resident Services Department, collaborates with activities and other needs as necessary. The driver represents The Village at Incarnate Word within our community. Role and Responsibilities Provides transportation for private appointments and scheduled community trips for all areas of The Village at Incarnate Word. Assist passengers in getting in and out of vehicles and secure any mobility devices following safety procedures before and during transportation. Complete errands and any other task requested by the administrative staff office and assist with other departmental tasks when not required to drive as approved by supervisor. Prepares transportation schedule using an office PC, distributes reminders to all areas and submits electronic schedule to those in need of knowing for each service day. Post sign-up sheets for scheduled community trips (i.e. area shopping centers, events). Keep in contact with the receptionist throughout the service day via cell phone. Maintains vehicles always clean and completes basic maintenance and upkeep of vehicles (i.e. oil changes, vehicle inspection) as necessary. Reports any problems or maintenance issues to the Maintenance Director and the Director of Resident Services. Prepares Payment Vouchers (PV) for gas receipts and turns in all receipts and/or invoices for repairs or services immediately or as requested by the Finance department. Records transactions on FullCount for all transportation trips in accordance with set fee schedule for services provided before the end of the month or billing closing day. Completes all Relias Training courses and/or attend any mandatory in-service scheduled. Other duties as assigned Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must be a skilled safe driver that is able to navigate city and county roads using various types of vehicles (i.e. sedan, mini-van, 12 passenger bus) utilizing time management and logistical routing skills on a consistent basis. Must be a customer service-oriented person that exhibits courteousness, kindness, patience and tactfulness while working with residents, co-workers and guests. Responsible for abiding by all traffic rules and regulations as well as the security and safety of all passengers. A demonstrated commitment to cause-driven mission and ability to uphold the mission and policies of The Village at Incarnate Word. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others. Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to consistently meet deadlines. A self-starter with the ability to take initiative, work independently and/or with limited supervision, and be accountable. Microsoft proficiency desirable. Education and Experience Preferred Must have a valid driver license, preferably a commercial driver license. GE or bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant work experience (preferrable working with seniors or special need persons). Knowledge of rules and regulations in the safe and efficient operation of automotives. Defensive training course, CPR and First Aid certificates preferred. Working Conditions Weekdays, some evening and weekend hours when necessary. At times, employees may bend, twist, lift, stoop, stand, sit, or walk 50% or more of the workday. Ability to walk on uneven or rough terrain. Ability to lift to 50 lbs. The Village at Incarnate Word provides VIA bus passes.
