In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting residents to various appointments, activities, and community outings while ensuring their comfort and security. Your expertise in commercial and specialized driving will help foster a positive environment that promotes independence and well-being for those we serve. This position offers an energetic, rewarding opportunity to contribute to a supportive community while honing your driving and customer service skills. Duties Safely operate passenger vans to transport residents within the facility and to external locations. Assist residents with boarding, disembarking, and securing themselves comfortably in the vehicle. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met at all times. Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and facility policies during transportation duties. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with residents, staff, and external partners to coordinate schedules and address needs. Assist with heavy lifting when loading or unloading supplies or equipment necessary for resident activities or facility operations. Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance records to ensure compliance and safety. Skills Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar roles with a focus on passenger safety. Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and licensing requirements such as driver credentials or equivalent certifications. Experience operating limousines or paratransit vehicles is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, team members, and external agencies. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when needed for loading supplies or assisting residents. Basic vehicle maintenance skills to identify issues early and coordinate repairs promptly. A proactive approach to safety protocols combined with a customer service mindset that prioritizes resident comfort and well-being.
