Stretcher Van Operator - BMH/Full Time Days 8a-4:30p

This position is responsible for providing routine non-medical transportation services for Centra Ground Transport under the direction of the Transport Supervisor(s) or designee. The Driver will be responsible for providing a safe and enriching experience for every individual from door to door. Driver will possess good communication skills. The Driver will perform pre & post vehicle safety inspections, follow scheduled transports, report & handle vehicle maintenance issues and communicate all participant/patient needs to immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

Valid Virginia driver's license Within six months of hire: VAVRS or

VDFP EVOC

(emergency vehicle operations course) level 2 CPR First Aid PASS (Passenger Assistance, Safety and Sensitivity) training

Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED Previous experience in direct support, medical transport, nonmedical transport, stretcher van, or EMS experience

Salary Range:

$16.85 - $23.60 /

Hour Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Providing exceptional door to door care to all Centra patients. Entering safely into patient homes on a routine basis. Communicating all patient changes & needs to direct supervisor. Performing pre & post shift vehicle safety inspections, assuring vehicle is in proper operational condition and reporting any maintenance issues to relevant personnel. Maintain cleanliness of interior & exterior of Centra vehicle. Maintain all necessary records/documentation regarding participants/patients & vehicles. Transport patients who are ambulatory, wheelchair, and van stretcher. Communicating frequent changes to direct supervisor or Shift Lead. Ability to rapidly adapt to changes between van stretcher, wheelchair shuttle, mental health, and courtesy shuttle transports. Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.
