Job Description
Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill a
TRAVEL CMM
Operator position for a manufacturing client located in Athens, AL. This is a Temp/Contract job. !Duties for this position include:
Work from drawings, models, charts, and specifications to inspect and verify parts Perform CMM operation and quality inspection procedures using best practices Conduct surface plate layout and inspections using conventional measurement equipment Operate Vision/Touch and Scanning Probe systems Interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, control plans, and statistical requirements Assist with corrective and preventative actions as needed Maintain accurate part counts and ERP/job traveler documentation Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards and safe work practices Collaborate with quality, engineering, and operations teams Suggest and support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and production Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality Perform lean manufacturing practices and additional duties as assigned Compensation (USD): $20.00•40.00/hour depending on experienceSchedule:
Monday•Thursday 3:30 p.m.•2:00 a.m. Successful candidates must meet the following requirements: Minimum of 2 years of CMM Operator experience preferred Experience using Zeiss Calypso software preferred Previous quality inspection experience in a machining environment preferred Strong understanding of GD&T and advanced inspection concepts Ability to use precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, gauges, comparators, and CMM equipment Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and inspection instructions Strong Microsoft 365 and Excel skills Strong mathematical, mechanical, and problem-solving abilities Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and management Experience in an ISO/FDA manufacturing facility preferred High School Diploma, GED, Trade School, or equivalent work experience required Ability to wear required PPE and maintain safe work practicesWHY APPLY FOR A JOB AT METRO SERVICES?
