Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technician or eligibility to obtain. Previous experience assisting in cardiovascular or cardiac surgery preferred. Familiarity with sterile techniques and surgical equipment used in CVOR procedures. Current BLS certification required. Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures; ensure necessary instruments and supplies are available. Assist surgical teams and anticipate the needs of surgeons in cardiovascular cases. Monitor patient safety, respond to emergencies, and provide quality intraoperative care. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with hospital standards. Support orientation of new CVOR staff or travelers, sharing insights and best practices.
