Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Travel A dynamic opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support in educational settings. This travel position is perfect for professionals experienced in facilitating communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within school environments. The role requires flexibility, excellent interpreting skills, and a commitment to fostering inclusive learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate effective communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff using sign language interpretation. Interpret classroom lectures, discussions, and school events to ensure full access to educational content. Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to understand the context and needs of students requiring interpreting services. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times while adapting to various school settings. Travel to different school locations, ensuring timely and consistent support across assignments.Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency and certification in Sign Language Interpretation. Experience working within K-12 educational environments or similar school settings. Strong knowledge of Deaf culture and effective communication techniques. Ability to travel as part of the assignment and manage scheduling demands. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with students and school personnel.Location:
