Travel Emergency Room Nurse (RN) in Elkader, IA

This contract position calls for clinical proficiency, adaptability, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment. The role offers a varied schedule and requires coverage in both ER and Medical-Surgical units as needed.

Schedule:

Shifts:

17:45 - 06:15 Every third weekend Every other holiday (EOH) Opportunity to cover Medical-Surgical unit as needed

Qualifications:

Active RN license with current standing At least one year of recent ER nursing experience BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire) Ability to perform confidently in high-stress situations Excellent interpersonal and critical-thinking skills Flexibility to work both the ER and additional units as required

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Room department Assess, triage, and respond to acute and emergent patient needs Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care Administer medications, monitor treatments, and conduct necessary interventions Document all patient interactions and clinical data promptly and accurately Provide support and education to patients and families during critical moments Float to the Medical-Surgical unit, delivering general patient care, as needed
