Job Description
Category Nursing - RN-PACU Job Type Travel Immerse yourself in the vibrant city of High Point, NC while advancing your nursing career in a renowned academic medical environment. This travel position offers you the unique chance to care for pediatric patients in a dynamic PACU setting, surrounded by leaders in healthcare and advanced learning. Working with a teaching hospital, you'll gain hands-on exposure to a full spectrum of surgical specialties and benefit from a collaborative, "all hands on deck" approach. Being part of a Level 1 Trauma and Stroke Center will significantly diversify your clinical experience, allowing you to learn from expert colleagues and modern practices that will enhance your professional skillset. Schedule/Hours Standard shifts; specific schedule provided upon assignment Responsibilities Deliver post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients (ages 0-17), both inpatient and outpatient Manage telemetry monitoring, IV pumps, and medication dispensing (Alaris pumps, Omnicell, Philips monitors) Respond effectively to various acuity levels; typical patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 based on patient needs Occasionally provide care for adult patients as dictated by unit demand Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team including transporters, PACU educators, and anesthesia providers Utilize
EPIC EMR
for patient charting Follow established protocols for medication infusions, including heparin and insulin drips Qualifications Active RN license Minimum 1 year, preferably 2+ years, of pediatric critical care/peds PACU experience Required certifications:BLS, PALS
