Category Nursing - RN-PACU Job Type Travel Discover the vibrant heart of Kansas with a travel nursing opportunity in Wichita, a city known for its rich cultural scene, friendly Midwestern charm, and accessible outdoor adventures. Experience professional growth as you collaborate with a talented team in a highly regarded surgical pre-op and recovery environment, developing your clinical skills and expanding your knowledge of diverse workplace practices and leadership styles. Working in a bustling pre-op and phase 2 recovery unit, you will be exposed to new protocols, state-of-the-art technology like Pyxis and
GE MACVU EKG
machines, and a supportive team atmosphere. The schedule runs from 5A to 5P, allowing ample time to explore everything Wichita has to offer—from the Sedgwick County Zoo to unique local eateries and arts venues. This travel assignment not only broadens your clinical experience but enriches your resume, setting you apart for future roles.
Schedule/Hours:
5:00 AM - 5:00
PM Required Experience & Skills:
Active RN license Current
ACLS/BLS
certification Strong Phase 2 recovery experience Familiarity with Meditech EMR systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience assisting with pre-op patients Ability to perform various pre-op and outpatient procedures
Responsibilities:
Manage care for patients in pre-op holding and phase 2 recovery Monitor and document patient status using Meditech EMR Provide post-surgical care for Urology, GYN, and other same day surgery cases Assist with outpatient procedures including infusions, EKGs, blood transfusions, and blocks Maintain a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio for optimal patient outcomes Respond onsite within 30 minutes when on-call
