Category Pharmacy - Pharmacy Manager Job Type Travel This position offers an opportunity to lead the inpatient pharmacy department at a respected hospital located in Glenwood Springs, CO. The role focuses on ensuring safe, cost-effective medication management and compliance with regulatory standards, while fostering a high-functioning pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enforce policies and procedures promoting safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication use. Maintain the medical staff-approved formulary and supervise medication storage, preparation, and supply integrity across the facility. Control and account for medications dispensed, including strict oversight of controlled substances.
Manage pharmacy personnel:
recruiting, training, evaluating, scheduling, and maintaining competency records. Participate in strategic planning and quality improvement efforts aligning pharmacy services with organizational goals. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as hospital policies. Assume staff pharmacist duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited school; BS Pharmacy degree also required. Current, active Colorado pharmacy license in good standing. Proven leadership experience in both pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy services. Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements alongside clinical judgment and strong communication skills. Certification in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association. EPIC experience is mandatory. Flu vaccination required with no exemptions accepted (October 1 - April 1). Ability to work day shifts (40 hours/week) with flexibility to cover evenings, overnights, or weekends as staffing needs arise.
Additional Requirements:
Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (Radius Rule). Compliance with Colorado's CAPS registration is mandatory and may take up to two weeks. Accurate completion of onboarding documents including SS# and DOB is critical to avoid processing delays. This is a 24-week travel assignment starting ASAP, ideal for pharmacists ready to relocate and lead within a dynamic inpatient hospital pharmacy setting. Qualified candidates meeting the above criteria are encouraged to apply promptly to facilitate timely credentialing and onboarding.
