Schedule:

Rotating shifts: 7:00am-3:00pm / 11:00am-7:30pm On call required (30-minute response time) 13-week assignment

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Current NYS RN license 2+ years of experience in an OR setting BLS required; ACLS preferred Prior Med/Surg experience preferred For those without recent Operating Room experience, successful completion of the Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program and passing the final exam is mandatory Strong knowledge of nursing principles and OR clinical equipment Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias Leadership skills; able to prioritize, delegate, and potentially act as charge nurse Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities

Responsibilities:

Deliver direct perioperative patient care based on thorough assessment and established nursing principles Anticipate and respond to patient needs, including teaching, clinical, and emotional support Maintain aseptic and safe environments using appropriate clinical equipment Recognize safety issues and implement best practices for safe patient handling Exercise effective problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments Lead by example with strong delegation and cooperation within the operative team
