Schedule:
Rotating shifts: 7:00 am-3:00 pm / 11:00 am-7:30 pm 13-week assignment On-call required (30-minute response time)
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Current and unrestricted NYS RN license Minimum 2 years' nursing experience required Operating Room experience preferred; candidates without recent OR experience must complete the Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program within 6 months and pass the final exam BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum of one year medical/surgical experience preferred Knowledge of lethal dysrhythmia interpretation and clinical instrumentation in the OR/ASU setting strongly desired Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills Ability to recognize and address safety issues, including safe patient transfer Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality peri-operative patient care by assessing, planning, and coordinating within a multidisciplinary surgical team Recognize and address urgent clinical needs in a rapidly evolving environment Prioritize and delegate tasks with effective leadership, stepping into charge nurse duties as needed Maintain a safe, aseptic environment and comply with clinical equipment protocols Provide patient and family education
